Suzanne Pfefferle Tafur is a native New Orleanian, a freelance writer, an independent film producer, and an author. Her work has appeared in such publications as The New Orleans Advocate, Gambit, Where Y'at Magazine, New Orleans Living, Louisiana Cookin', Sugar Journal, Where - New Orleans, and Travelhost - New Orleans.
Tafur's first documentary, 'Vietnamese Cuisine in New Orleans', debuted on WYES-TV on October 14th, 2012. Her book, Vietnamese Cuisine in New Orleans, was released by Pelican Publishing Company in February, 2014. Following a trip to Viet Nam, she began conducting research for these projects. Her second documentary, 'Latino Cuisine in New Orleans', debuted on WYES-TV on February 21st, 2015.
Tafur served as an editor of Pine Chemicals Review, and also handled circulation and copyediting for Sugar Journal. Both of these magazines are international trade publications.
She attended Loyola University as a communications major and graduated from Our Lady of Holy Cross College in liberal arts, with a concentration on English and art. After graduation, she worked in the Promotion Department of Pelican Publishing Company. She is currently pursuing an MA in English from the University of New Orleans.
An avid traveler, she has also visited India, Jamaica, Egypt, Cuba, Colombia, and Puerto Rico.
